Determine Fence Length
Need to determine the length of fence needed for your project? Follow the following steps to calculate total footage with Google Maps.
Open Google Maps
Go to the Google Maps website in your web browser.
Find Your Property
Search for your address and zoom in close enough to clearly see your property boundaries. Switch to Satellite view for the best clarity on lot lines and features.
Start the Measurement
Right-click on the corner of your property where you want your fence to start.
From the menu that appears, select Measure distance.
Mark the Path (Fence Line)
Click on the next point (corner, gate location, or bend) along the fence line. A straight line will connect the two points.
Continue clicking on the map to add more points along the entire path of the proposed fence.
View Total Distance
The total distance will be displayed at the bottom of the map (usually in a small card or box), updating as you add each new point.
